How WEX²® Works

WEX²® is designed for both greenfield and brownfield applications. By converting wasted energy into electrical power, it:


  • Regulates flow while feeding electricity into the installation’s grid.
  • Utilises both pressure energy and waste heat from the process stream, converting them into clean electricity.
  • Provides cooling that can lower seawater lift pump demand and enhance condensate recovery.
  • Delivers strong project economics and long-term energy savings, even without CO₂ quota incentives. Recovers energy in recycling applications, including gas export, re-injection, and recompression during late field life.
  • In some cases, can generate enough clean electricity to fully electrify installations, eliminating the need for conventional gas turbine power generation.


The result is a broader set of process optimisation opportunities than conventional choke regulation can provide—giving operators a larger toolbox to reduce costs, increase revenue, and strengthen ESG performance.
